Richard Mills commenced as Rector at Denham Court Anglican Church at the beginning of February 2020. He and his wife Marge and their daughter Lucy moved into the rectory and commenced ministry with the people in the church.
Richard was ordained in 1992. He has been:
the Senior Minister for the last 15 years at Mittagong Anglican Church (2004-2019).
Before that he was Senior Minister at West Ryde Anglican Church for seven years (1997-2004).
He was an Assistant Minister at Campbelltown Anglican Church for three and a half years (1994-1997).
His first Assistant Minister position was at Merrylands Anglican Church (1992-1994).
In 2003, Richard and family spent a few months in England where he did a clergy swap with a minister in Lowestoft, Suffolk. In his younger years Richard moved around with his family and grew up in Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra and then Sydney again.
Richard met his wife Margery at Moore College where they were both students in the same year. They married at the end of their third year in college at the end of 1990. Marge originally comes from Queensland, and grew up in Brisbane. Marge has been a lecturer at Mary Andrews College, teaching mainly Old and New Testament and Church history subjects. In 2015, Marge was ordained as a Deacon in connection with her role at Mary Andrews College.
They have three children.
Marge has been lecturing on the Mary Andrews College faculty since 2005. She and her husband have been involved in parish ministry since 1992. Marge also previously worked for Mary Andrews College from 1991-1993.
Prior to that, Marge was a preschool teacher in country Queensland. Currently she is the Chaplain for Mothers Union, Sydney Diocese, encouraging families in their Christian growth . She enjoys time with her growing family, vegetable gardening, oil painting, exploring history in person or through reading, and detective fiction.
